Friday, September 23, 2011 is a Jeans Day.  Students may wear jeans, but they still need to wear a WJPS shirt.

Requests for program changes should be submitted online via the link below.

Please do not come to the Program/Guidance Office to request a program change.

Students must follow their current schedule until a new one is given to them.

Pick Up School Programs

Please make plans to attend the registration process for the start of the year.
On Tuesday, September 6, middle school parents/guardians and students should plan on coming in anytime between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to take care of the business of updating forms, getting programs, locks and lockers, and to pay fees.  Fees support school activities and publications. Fees for grades 6-11 are $65.00, to be given to Ms. Pepe. 

High School parents/guardians and students should plan on coming in Wednesday, September 7 to accomplish the same things.  Please note that all forms and fees must be in the Main Office before student will receive a lock and locker.

All students are expected to be in uniform the first day of school, Thursday, September 8, 2011.

School Supplies


WJPS Basic School Supply List

Please be reminded that individual teachers may have other needs.   There are links at the bottom of the page so you can print out a list.

Incoming 8th and 9th grade students should read all the way to the bottom of this post for a list of additional items.  


Ø  3-ring loose leaf binder depending on student/teacher preference
(If used, it should be stocked with dividers and loose-leaf paper)
Ø  blue or black ink ballpoint pens
Ø  #2 pencils
Ø  Post-It Notes (5-pack assorted sizes)
Ø  1 pack of graph paper
Ø  12-inch ruler
Ø  Compass and Protractor
Ø  Calculator, see below for type:
High School:  graphing
6-8 Grade:  Scientific (TI)
Ø  5 Marble Composition Books – 100 sheet
Ø  1 Glue Stick
Ø  5 folders with pockets
Ø  1 pack index cards
Ø  1 6 or 12 pack washable markers
Ø  2 highlighters
Ø  Thumb Drive (available from school store)




Attention NEW STUDENTS:  Only school combination locks are used.
They will be available for a non-refundable, one-time only rental fee of $5.00,
to be collected on the first day of school.




The following donated items would be greatly appreciated.  They can be brought to advisory class during the first few days of school.  Please mark them clearly with student’s full name and grade:

Tissues                      
Loose-leaf paper
2 packages of 8 ½ X 11 copy paper
 Hand sanitizer         
Ball point pens         
Washable markers



We are no longer able to offer the following items, so students need to bring their own, as needed:
Mini DV Cassette, Memory Card for camera, Rewritable CD/DVD


8th graders should have the following Barrons Regents Exams and Answers paperback books:

  • Earth Science – the Physical Setting
  • Integrated Algebra

9th graders should have the following Barrons Regents Exams and Answers paperback books:

  • US History and Government
  • Biology - Living Environment
  • Integrated Algebra or Geometry

College Now free college classes available at Baruch for rising Juniors & Seniors

For students who will be Juniors & Seniors in September, Baruch is offering a free college course.  Students who pass the course will have CUNY college credits.  Students may take one of the following six classes:
(Session 1 begins August 26): Introduction to Business, Fundamentals of Business Law, General Psychology,(Session 2 begins September 26):  Inroduction to Cultural Anthropology, Speech Communication and Writing.  Students can only take one of the six classes.

The deadline to apply has been extended to Friday, August 5, 2011.
