The school web site has been taken down due to a virus. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you. The webmaster is investigating. Please be assured that an improved web site is in the works. In the meantime, please refer to this blog for important school information.
On the right side of the blog is a column titled, "Everyday School Links." Please click on the appropriate link for school contact information, the link to the uniform company, etc. If I am missing something you think should be there, please let me know by clicking on the comment button at the end of this post.
I hope you are all settling into the new school year. We are in the process of sending home important forms that need to be completed and returned to school as soon as possible. Students will be given packets that include: 2 blue emergency contact cards, permission to be photographed forms for WJPS, the DOE, College Board and Channel 1, the internet use policy form, a blank permission trip form and a TeacherEase registration form. It may seem tiresome to fill out the same forms year after year, but we are not allowed to re-use forms from previous years. For your convenience, I will be loading these forms onto the blog under "Everyday School Links" so you can print them in case your packet gets misplaced.
A very important form has already been sent home. The 2008-2009 Application for Free and Reduced Priced Meals is a very important form. Even if your family does not qualify for free or reduced lunch, or if your child brings lunch from home every day, our school needs you to fill out and return this form. There is now a box you can check at the top of the form that says, "I do not qualify for free or reduced priced meals." Just check that box, fill in Part 2 (your children at WJPS), and sign the form in Part 5. If you have misplaced the form that was sent home, you can download it from the DOE website here. Please use black ink when filling it out. Your child can return the form to his/her second period teacher or to Ms. Cressy in the main office.
Whew! This is a long post and I appreciate the time you took to read it. If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at school: 718-461-2219, email at hreed2@schools.nyc.gov or by clicking comments at the end of this post. I am unable to reply to anonymous emails or comments, so please include your full name, your child's name and grade if you send an email.
